Acupressure Massage

It has been proven that stress or stress related illnesses have become the primary reason for absence from work. This has resulted in a loss to British businesses of £10.2 billion. Of stress related disorders, back pain is the most common with more than 60% of the population reporting back pain. Regular acupressure massage helps to tackle stress or stress related illness before it becomes a real problem, with many organisations already seeing the benefits. All the company needs to provide is a quiet room, the therapist brings a chair specifically designed for this type of massage. No need to remove any clothing as no oils are used, and the massage can be fitted into break times, lunches or after work.

What is Acupressure (workplace/onsite) massage?

  • Based on an ancient Japanese massage technique called Anma, meaning to press and rub. Similar to shiatsu, or acupuncture without the needles, by applying pressure to specific points blocked energy is released.
  • The therapist uses fingers, knuckles and elbows to apply pressure to more than 100 specific stress release points in the shoulders, upper and lower back, arms and hands.
  • A detailed routine called a ‘kata’ is followed, which can be performed as a 15 or 25 minute massage.

  • Included in the sequence is neck, shoulders, upper and lower back massage, head massage and some stretches to loosen tight, tense muscles and aid breathing.
  • Through clothes, no oils or lotions are used.
